Here is why I'm asking grown-ups to vote for Barack Obama. I am 7 years old so I can't vote......My mom told me that I shouldn't base my election analysis on "feelings" (I like him/her) or "beliefs" (I share his/her beliefs) but on logical arguments. She asked me to create my own rational explanations for my support of Obama. Here is one of my arguments:
McCain and Palin are not be qualified to be President / Vice President of the U.S. The President's job is to do good for the country and the world. To do good for the country, the President must make smart decisions on important situations.
Governor Palin believes the world is 6000 years old. This is absurd. This is not a rational belief. This is a mistake. Scientists, experiments and evidence have shown this to be completely false. Therefore, she is not rational. If she is not rational, she should not be allowed to be President or Vice President.
Please vote for Barack Obama.

You've posted very well thought out information. Because you are so interested in the election, it will be exciting to see who wins. Wonder how many other "Kids for OBAMA" are out there.
I couldn't agree more with your thoughts Stas'
This is one of the most important elections in a long time. Each election is always important, of course, but we must pay attention now to where this country and planet are headed. Im happy that we have sharp thinking young people like yourself to notice the difference between the rational and the irrational. Keep up the good work, I look forward to your next post.
Your Mom is right about basing decisions on logic instead of feelings. Often times (not just in politics) I must realize that just because I feel some way does not mean it is true (in reality).
Keep up the good work and congratulations on the article in the Chicago Sun Times today!

Hello Stas!
I am so very impressed with you! The way you've outlined your rational arguement for supporting Barack Obama is far better than most adults I know. I especially love how you deconstruct Palin's belief that the world is only 6000 years old!!! You're so right and so well-spoken. Please share with your parents my congratulations on encouraging such rational & independent thinking as well as your own form of expression! I am a child therapist & I work with kids and families who are having problems, so it is encouraging to see how you & your family are getting it right! I'll be looking for your name on a ballot in the future, my friend!
All the best,

You're right. If someone believes the world is 6000 years old, then none of their beliefs can be trusted.
You are my hero!
Star wars....classical music....Legos....and politics! I think i found my new favorite blog! :-)
Yep, there is something fundamentally wrong with a society that can actually elect to public office the crazies among us who harbor such insane notions as Creationism -- indeed, people who harbvor belief in gods, goddesses, flying saucers, vampires, bigfoot, and all the other claptrap that humanity is unfortunately prone to believe.
We as a nation were subjected to 8 years of an unelected "President" who had at best an IQ around 70, perhaps 80. We don't need another crop of frothingly insane, unintilligent morons in the White House, not considering the consequences we've seen in the past 8 years.
